Come on and break the door down.

Again, I am so sorry for being absent for so long, but I can finally say that I am free! I'm back home now for the summer after stressing over deadlines so I'll now have more time for getting back to my blogging ways.

Anyway, I thought I'd share with you a film a group of us created for our Contemporary Design Influences module. It's based on the idea of disillusionment; taking inspiration from the psychological torture Miss Havisham endured, as well as having a strong sex theme too (ooh, fancy). It took us forever to organise, shoot and edit so I would really love your feedback!

Thank you again for followers old and new,
I'm honestly so excited to start blogging every day again!

Among Feathered Friends

I've finally finished my concept board for tomorrow! Combining designer Elie Saab and natural elements, I'm designing a fashion show set in a huge nest with feathers, reflective objects and mirror shards hanging from the ceiling and Goldfrapp singing in an egg shell. I love university.

I also had to give a small (embarrassing!) presentation on my NY trip to the class, giving them a good glimpse of my blog. I'm sorry if I've been talking non-stop about my course but it's pretty much taken over my life this week.

Anyway, blogging might be a little sporadic this weekend as I'm off to visit Josh in York tomorrow! I haven't seen him for a couple of weeks and can't wait to hop on the train.

Ooh, and thank you for all of the lovely comments I've received recently! It really means a lot :).

Beauty and the Brainjack.

Meet my current obsession; Elie Saab. This semester, I'm required to create a hypothetical fashion show using a designer and concept of my choice (as well as ringing the Natural History Museum pretending I'm an actual events organiser in the hope they give me a price for hiring them). Although it's fairly up the air at the moment, I'm looking into creating a AW12 couture show for this incredible designer; taking inspiration from natural forms, texture and all that glitters.

I've also organised to take outfit photographs with a girl from my course so fare thee well self-timer! Hopefully you'll see more of my face and less of Karlie Kloss' (and we all know which one you'd rather catch a glimpse of).

In other news, here's my finalised document header for my PR company, "Brainjack"! If you caught my previous post, you'll know I've been ripping my hair out trying to perfect it.

Dressing c.1860.

I love how I'm watching Big Fat Gypsy Weddings as I upload these images. Oh, how times have changed.

I'm also banging my head against the wall as I've spent ALL DAY trying to come up with a name for my PR company that isn't either A. already taken or B. shit. I'm sure I'll think of something soon but for now I'm off for a cup of tea and a shower. Perhaps doing both at the same time will conclude to some PR-related  epiphany.

Lullaby.

Horsey blouse - H&M
Skirt - River Island
Necklace - H&M

I look like some crazy nymph with a hankering for horses. Obviously.
I really took my mum's photography skillz for granted last year. The combination of my stupidly thin Uni accommodation and self-timer is a nightmare.

I also find it funny how only one half of my hair looks in an all-right condition. Whaaaaa?
I hope you liked my NY photographs anyway! I'm gonna be going on about it for a while so hold tight (I've also found my disposable camera that I brought along so woo-hoo!)

We Are a Great Big Part of It.

Sorry for the photograph overload! There were so many, I couldn't just choose a few. Anyway, here's what I got up to in New York, baby!

 BYE!
Getting excited at my first stamp in my passport.

Long-haul flight consisting of free alcohol, surprisingly tasty food and hours of films.

Hittin' Times Square on the first night after a very stressful day (more on that later).

Going up the Empire State building and getting a quick tan.

As well as being blown away. (Recognise the jacket?)

 More views!

 Drooling at Prada window displays.

A quick stroll in Central Park.

 Climbing Mt. Everest.

Subway Style SS12.

A poignant moment at Ground Zero.

A peaceful moment in such a loud, bustling city.

Followed by the most artificial colourings I've ever seen in one drink.

And the best pancakes with maple syrup and bananas.

Discovering little Japanese restaurants at 1am in Soho. I ordered an omelette and received a mammoth calzone-style dish. American portions > English ones.

I probably spent about half of my time in Victoria's Secret (I even caught a glimpse of one of their Angel's at the check out!)
I also took a number of trips to the American Apparel warehouse sale, where I bought the shiniest pair of trousers ever (they'll no doubt turn up in an outfit post soon).

Amy squealing at "Morgan Ave. "

 Hipsters 'R Us in Williamsburg.

Magnolia Bakery - featuring the best lemonade and lemon cupcakes ever created.

 More from Williamsburg.

 "Home Sweet Home".

Cheesy smiles all around at Times Square.

Drinking complimentary drinks in Soho. (I won't go into detail about what followed, but considering that glass held just vodka, you can imagine what happened.)

Ice Skating in Central Park. (You're looking at a NY Ice Skating Champion in the making).

A skate store in Williamsburg, with a huge skate ramp and amazing grafitti art to go with it. I also found Aladdin's cave next door. The vintage store Beacon's Closet held thousands of pieces, and I only tried on about 95% of it.

And finally, the most amazing bicycle in the world. Upside-down because Blogger won't let me rotate the image for some reason!

Well done if you actually looked at all of those! Despite having an amazing time, it was slightly bitter-sweet. The first couple of days were spent crying, stressing and hating everything I had on after we nearly missed the connecting flight (note: running through Heathrow was dead fun). This then lead to our luggage being misplaced as they weren't on the flight to Newark. They finally caught up with us in New York two days afterwards, but with items stolen. My Valentino perfume, a handbag, and a jewellery box containing all of my jewellery were taken, including sentimental pieces!

Despite this, I still had an incredible time (there's so much more I did but I thought I'd save you from another 100 images.)

Would anyone be interested in me doing a post about the items I purchased? (I'll make it look less materialistic as it sounds I promise!)
